Legal Aid

Legal Aid is still available in relation to a wide range of family disputes and we are contracted with the Legal Aid Agency to provide some Family Law advice. Where Legal Aid is available we will assess your eligibility and help with the application process. If you are not eligible for Legal Aid we will discuss our private fees with you, which are always competitive.

Let James Murray Solicitors help with your legal requirements. Call 0151 933 3333 or contact us here to arrange an appointment.

Privately funded work

As legal aid has now become very restricted for many matters, we are doing everything we can to assist clients who need representation.

Initial interviews obviously do take up professional time and so we have to charge for this. This will be £200 (inclusive of VAT) for that first meeting and this is fixed. It must be paid prior to the appointment.

Fixed fees

For many other pieces of work or court applications we are prepared to consider offering fixed fees. We have a reputation for a fair and transparent fee structure, as well as wanting to ensure that you get value for money towards as successful a resolution as possible.

Hourly Charging Rates

For all other matters you will be given the details of the hourly charging rate for the Fee Earner who is responsible for your file. An estimate of overall costs will be provided at the outset, and which we will review and update for you periodically so that you can maintain control over the costs position as your matter progresses. For details of the fee structure for the fee earners, please see below:-

Grade ASolicitors with over 8 year post qualification experience including at least 8 years litigation experience.
Grade BSolicitors and Legal Executives with over 4 years post qualification experience including at least 4 years litigation experience.
